Rudimental – Rumour Mill

The second track from Rudimental‘s upcoming second album We The Generation is Rumour Mill, a beautifully chilled-out tune featuring two of the band’s long-term live collaborators Anne-Marie and Will Heard.

When taken alongside the first release from the new album (Never Let You Go), it suggests a more mellow vibe from the East London dance group, although doubtless there are some more frenetic and energetic gems to come in time for their many festival appearances over the summer.

This track is notable as the first recorded release featuring Anne-Marie, who has been something of a star during Rudimental’s extensive global touring schedule but who did not appear on their debut album Home. Her own solo career is primed for imminent lift-off too, with this track likely to do no harm to her progress in that respect.

The video for Rumour Mill, whilst still omitting Rudimental band members DJ Locksmith, Piers Agget, Amir Amor and Kesi Dryden, does mark a slight departure from the past in featuring the singers. It’s also a very low-key yet brilliantly engaging video.

We’re liking this new flavour and can’t wait to see some of the forthcoming live festival sets.
