Indie rock band The Sherlocks returned to Southampton to play a packed-out show at The 1865. The packed-out venue was full of excitement from the moment brothers Kiaran and Brandon Crook, and Josh and Andy Davidson stepped on stage. Last Night opened their energetic set, which got the crowd pumped. This was followed by other singles Escapade and Blue which both also went down well.
They continued to play tracks from their recently released debut album, Live For The Moment. Frontman Crook thanked the crowd for coming and especially buying the album and helping it reach the top 10.
The band slowed things down with Turn the Clock and Motions which have a more acoustic feel and show off Crook’s lead vocals and the harmonies of the Davidson brothers. But it wasn’t long before the pace picked back up again with Heart of Gold. As their set came to an end, The Sherlocks performed old favourite and album title track Live for the Moment, an infectious indie tune which reflects their outlook on life.
The band thanked the fans again for coming before performing their final song, Chasing Shadows, which has become something of a modern indie anthem. The crowd continued to clap and chant the chorus, long after the band had left the stage and as the venue began to empty.
The Sherlocks have been on the rise on the indie scene for a few years now, and they’re proving that their strong debut album is backed up with the substance of an equally impressive live show. There is doubtless a lot more to come from this South Yorkshire-based outfit in the future.
