It’s fair to say 2017 has been a good year for Wolf Alice. The North London four-piece released second album Visions of Life in September, while an extensive tour supporting The 1975 took their particular brand of folk-meets-grunge-meets-alt-rock to a wider audience. Next year promises much for them too as they kick off the year with their own European tour dates, a few shows supporting Queens of the Stone Age on part of their Villains World Tour, as well as a stint in support of Foo Fighters in the summer. There are also a shed-load of festival appearances already in their diary.

In the meantime, take a moment to admire this exquisite track for its quirkiness, originality and attitude. Multi-layered and intense, the track is short and sweet, with singer Ellie Rowsell’s vocals capturing the attention right from the off.

Only very narrowly missing out on top slot as our song of the year, Beautifully Unconventional – a pretty apt description of the band themselves to be fair – is a simply vital inclusion in our list of the year’s best.
