There are a handful of festivals each year that manage to bring together so many of the artists we bleat on about on Sync – Dot To Dot and The Great Escape spring to mind in particular – but one of the first of this summer’s music extravaganzas is really setting the bar high as far as we’re concerned.
City centre fest Sound City is making its return to Liverpool, heralding the start of festival season when it catches the early vibe on 5/6 May. It’s the 11th year for the event and it has summoned great artists from near and far for this year’s line-up. We’ll do a full ‘pick of the crop’ nearer the time, but we’re very excited about Sync favourites Haarm, Modern Strangers, Geowulf, Low Island, Yellow Days, Hey Charlie!, Swimming Tapes, JAWS, and Park Hotel all on the same bill.
There are also names such as DMAs, Slow Readers Club and Palace among the 250 acts performing across the various intimate venues and bigger spaces spaces of Liverpool’s historic Baltic Triangle, with many more artists still to be announced. Tickets here.
