Banfi have been consistently putting out wonderfully well-crafted tunes since getting together in 2015. We’ve been big fans of the London-based trio (Joe Banfi, Aaron Graham and Chris McCuaig) for a while now but can’t get over how their output seems to just get stronger and stronger.
Never Really Cared is a case in point – ultimately it’s a ‘nasty’ love song and yet also beautiful in its own way. Joe Banfi said: “The starting point was this idea of exploring how mean and nasty you could make a love song, for no particular reason other than we knew there was something good and real around mean love. Rejection is bad enough when it comes from a stranger, but its at its worst when there’s a long history of a relationship that’s being entirely rejected, with no sign of gratitude or desire to treasure what happened there.”
The lead song from their latest release The Jack Powell EP, we loved this on first listen but you just have to see the accompanying visuals too – a quite simply brilliant video to a cracking song.
