Tall Children – aka Liverpool guitarist Ben Hughes – has released Song For You, a poppy, dance-fuelled track that is the epitome of earworm.

Over the years, Hughes has played with the likes of Mick Fleetwood, Dave McCabe and The Zutons, Mel C, Nitin Sawhney and Paulo Nutini. He even lucked out by playing Yesterday with Paul McCartney.

Now though, he’s going alone with his own material. After some production and writing sessions with Hugh Worskett (Birdy, Michael Kiwanuka), he started working with Rich Turvey (Blossoms, Cabbage). It was from these sessions that Song For You was born, and the pair are currently in the studio working on demos for the forthcoming debut album.

You can also catch him live next month when he performs at London’s Tooting Tram & Social on 3 May – tickets here.
