Last week saw a live appearance from psychedelic pop group Whyte Horses, performing tracks from their debut Pop or Not and new album Empty Words, plus a number of covers.

The line-up featured a host of special guest artists including Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys, La Roux, Mélanie Pain and St Bart’s Choir.

The show was called ‘The Whyte Horses Experience’, and it certainly was an experience! A multimedia journey through film and music, featuring collages made up of avant-garde cinema and childhood nostalgia; at times it was an almost overwhelming assault on the senses. But with 14-15 musicians on stage all very much working as one, it was a mesmerising show.

Bright, uplifting, and psychedelic, this was a performance that was utterly dreamy and compelling.
