The Rasmus are still doing their thing (who knew?!) and the Finnish pop-rockers have certainly earned their stripes with a career that now spans nine (count ’em!) albums, including last year’s Dark Matters.

First band on in support for their Nottingham show was Overlaps who gave their all and showed plenty of appreciation for being on tour with The Rasmus and being able to play UK shows. THey were followed by The Shiver, who had the crowd was singing along and nicely getting in the mood for The Rasmus. It was nice to see two female-fronted bands as the support acts.

The Rasmus finally came on and the crowd loved the mixture of their old and new songs, and they played the stage like they have never really been away. The performance was tight, fun, and totally engaging. It was proof – if it was needed – that current chart positions hardly ever tell the full story of who should be on your gig hitlist.
