Ok ok, we know we bleat on about them, but you know it’s pretty tough not to feature Childcare on our pages when they just keep delivering radically different tunes from one release to the next.

Latest single Bamboo, out today, is a prime example. The band’s usual frontman Ed Cares steps aside to let bandmate Emma Topolski put down her bass and take up the mic. To be fair, it’s only right to do so, given that to confine Emma’s vocal role in the band to the background would be a criminal waste, as her performance on this wonderfully eclectic song demonstrates.

An album awaits in 2019, but in the meantime, you might still be lucky enough to bag yourself a free ticket to see the London foursome play an intimate gig at the Two Tribes Brewery in North London on 14 November if you’re quick!

And while you’re about it, check out our interview with Emma about her solo project Saint Clair, which we’re equally in love with.
