Having just released their second album, Painwave, Clean Cut Kid returned to Southampton for a packed-out show at The Joiners as part of their current UK tour. Fans cheered as the band arrived on stage, kicking off their set with Goodbye, a track from the new album.
Fans danced and sang along throughout, feeding off the band’s energy and regular banter that lead singer, Mike Halls shared with the crowd. Amongst songs in the setlist were heartfelt tracks, Jean and Brother of Mine from the band’s debut album, Felt, which also highlighted Halls’ lead vocals, and I Don’t Like You but I Love You, and Jason from new release, Painwave.
Closing the set was Vitamin C, one of the band’s most popular and infectious releases, followed by Emily from the new album, during which the crowd were singing along in harmony. Clean Cut Kid are clearly talented and passionate about making music and are rewarded by fans’ reactions during live performances.
