Electro-pop singer-songwriter July Jones played a launch show in collaboration with mental health charity The Mix in London.

Outside her solo career, Jones is a prolific writer, having created songs for numerous other artists. She feels determined to capture a soul and gospel sound of the older generations and combine it with a more youthful, pop sound, bringing it closer to the younger audience. Most recently, she has been focusing on recording her EP, with a live recording of a gospel choir.

As if that doesn’t keep her busy enough, she manages to combine being a model, singer and all-around artist to represent a new wave of multi-genre, super-talented young UK artists.

As soon as she hits the stage, the crowd goes crazy! She is pure energy and entertainment; my mind was just blown away. At the end of the show she thanked everyone that came down, saying that she was worried no-one would turn up. While saying that, she started to cry overwhelmed as she was by the huge response of the crowd.

Supporting Jones on the night were some other great femaile artists. Eva-Lina is an up-and-coming singer and producer from Sweden with a captivating stage presence, who makes playful and provocative pop music.

Brought up singing in church and fed a steady diet of rock music by her older brother, Eva-Lina has a wide range of musical influences including the likes of Jessie J and Gwen Stefani. Since leaving her day job as a builder and moving to London, Eva has performed at a number of different festivals.

Georgia Meek is a singer/songwriter/producer based just outside London. She describes her sound as electro/indie-pop music with a feminist punch. Taking her experiences and handing them on a plate for the listener to relate to, her songs are powerful and bold in their execution; she certainly isn’t afraid to touch on highly personal life moments, resulting in some lucid, emotive song writing.

All in all, it was a great night supporting a very worthwhile cause, and it was so nice to see all female acts performing!
