Punchy and spiky, Calva Louise manage to neatly fuse slick tunes with a distinctive raw-edged, guitar-heavy punk-pop sound.
Following the release of debut album Rhinoceros earlier in the year, the trio’s late-2019 EP Interlude For The Borderline Unsettled added four new tracks – including Sleeper – that signalled a continued evolution towards an even more bold and confident direction.
And what’s more, as a live proposition they are among the best we’ve seen this year; with lead singer Jess Allanic a particularly great focal point for a hugely talented band deserving of the wider acclaim that we hope will be coming their way in 2020.
